header Fifth Annual International Symposium on Supply Chain Management

October 17-19, 2007

The Grand Hotel & Suites
Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Call for Papers  (Here is a brochure in a PDF file)

The past four symposia have been characterized by a relatively small number of parallel sessions (at most three) and generous time for discussion at all sessions. Academics as well as practitioners have praised the relaxed pace of presentations and cordial environment which provided for excellent opportunities in networking and a fruitful exchange of ideas. We plan to re-create this atmosphere with this Fifth Annual event.

We invite prospective authors and presenters, both academicians and practitioners, to contribute to this international symposium. Potential areas of focus include:

Third-Party Logistics Providers
Demand Management
Globalization and SCM

eProcurement

Intelligent Agents in Supply Chains
Network Design
Reverse Logistics
Risk Management

Supply Chain Coordination
Supply Chain Security
Suppliers Management
SCM Software

Submissions Guidelines:

  • Academic papers. All papers will undergo a double-blind review by at least two reviewers from the symposium's program committee. All accepted papers will be published in a CD of proceedings, after full payment of registration fees by at least one author. Given the strict reviewing process, most papers will be selected for publication as special issues in leading refereed journals. The past four events generated eight special journal issues! At least one author should present the paper at the symposium. Here are guidelines for academic papers.
  • White papers. White papers from practitioners are strongly encouraged. Accepted papers will be published in full or in abstract form in a CD of proceedings, after full payment of the registration fee by at least one author. At least one author should present the paper at the symposium. Here are guidelines for white papers.
  • Presentations. Some authors, especially practitioners, may choose to contribute with a presentation without submitting a paper.  All presentations (whether accompanied by a paper or not) are 30 minutes long followed by 5 minutes for discussion. The Symposium will not accept presentations in the form of commercial promotional material for a business or product.
