In his previous experience, he worked as a business consultant for Deloitte and Axia Consulting being allocated in supply chain management projects in countries like Brazil, Italy and Slovakia. He also has experience in the automotive industry in companies like Volkswagen and DaimlerChrysler, both in Germany. Tom Comstock is a 20-year veteran in the area of manufacturing software. Prior to joining Apriso Corporation, he was VP of Product Marketing at Brooks Software, a $120M software division of Brooks Automation, which focuses on real-time execution software for high-tech manufacturers. Previously he held VP of Marketing roles at Sequencia Corporation, a leader in PLM and automation for batch manufacturing companies and at Promis Systems a leading in MES systems for semiconductor manufacturers. Comstock also provided sales and marketing leadership to Palette Systems and worked in electronics manufacturing with Consolidated Micrographics. Tom received his BA from UCLA, Masters from UC Berkeley, and his MBA from Pepperdine.

Giovani J. C. da Silveira is an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary. He holds a PhD in Operations Management from the University of Warwick (1997). He is a researcher in the areas of operations strategy, supply chain management, and e-operations. He has published numerous articles in renowned journals such as Journal of Operations Management, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, and International Journal of Production Research. His research is supported by a five-year grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) to develop a program on supply chain integration for mass customization. Dr. da Silveira is a member of the International Manufacturing Strategy Survey, a global network of operations strategy scholars. Anne Donaldson-Page has over thirty years of consulting and marketing experience in the private and public sectors. Throughout her career in industry and government, she has been instrumental in managing engagements and providing thought leadership in areas as diverse as strategic planning, strategic sourcing and procurement, economic competitiveness and education and training. Currently Anne is owner of the management consulting firm, stratAHEAD which provides strategy and sourcing solutions for her clients. Recent engagements include partnering with a major Canadian consulting firm to develop a strategy for a large Canadian retailer to turn ‘Vendors into Customers’, working with the Ministry of Finance and the Hospital sector on issues related to benefits capture and balanced scorecard development, sourcing a new legal services supplier for one of Ontario’s leading community colleges, speaking at strategy and contract management conferences, working with the Boreal Institute for a Civil Society, based at the Munk Centre for International Studies, University of Toronto on the ‘Youth Employment Community of Practice’.
Anne is versed and familiar with many state of the art tools including best practices frameworks, and strategy templates and tools to provide value to her clients. Previously Anne was Director, Global Sourcing and Payment Processing at CIBC where she built a successful ground-breaking sourcing strategy for Management Consulting and Professional services including legal services.
Anne implemented a Vendor Management Program including setting direction regarding best-in-class vendor scorecards and led a group of Vendor and HR Portfolio Managers in their ongoing management of vendors for the benefit of CIBC. She successfully implemented a Sourcing strategy which led to more effective control of Bank of Montreal Group’s external legal costs as well as managed a group of Category Managers in their ongoing supplier and project management efforts of initiatives within the Services team, and provided overall program direction to this team. She developed senior executive communications highlighting high levels of consulting spend within the BMO organization which acted as the catalyst for more effective spending controls, achieved major cost savings and implemented a best practices discipline internally.
Anne’s formal consulting experience comes through the former Canada Consulting Group, now Boston Consulting Group where she provided consulting advice to the private and public sectors in planning, marketing, finance, organizational design, and policy and program development. She has led many teams in cost cutting/revenue enhancing efforts for clients in many industries.

Jim’s background includes over 30 years of experience in the supply chain management field. His business focuses on developing and operating supply chain outsourcing services for companies that demand complex, high value services.
Jim is a graduate in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and in Management Science from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a past chairman of the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Canada and a frequent speaker on a wide range of supply chain topics. He is also a founding member and a Director of the Center for Outsourcing Research and Education. In the community he serves on the Board as Treasurer of the Headwaters Health Care Centre and is an active fundraiser for the United Way of Greater Toronto.

He received the best paper award of IIE Transactions in 2002. Professor Lee Luong is Head of the School of Advanced Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering, University of South Australia. He has had extensive experience in teaching and research and development within the tertiary sector as well as with industry.
He graduated from Monash University (Melbourne) in 1973 with a B.E.(Hons.), and completed his Ph.D. from the same university in 1977. After graduation, he worked for many years in industry and research organisations before joining the University of South Australia in 1988. Prof. Luong 's teaching and research interests cover economic analyses of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) selection and implementation, production management systems, cellular manufacturing, and intelligent manufacturing systems. He has taught a wide range of subjects in manufacturing at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and supervision of research students. He has published widely in these fields of research, and is also actively involved in professional service such as editorial board.

Joan E. McLaughlin is Director, Supply Chain and Support Services at St. Michael’s Hospital where her responsibilities include vendor administration, logistics, pharmacy, retail pharmacy, pharmacy residency, food services, dietetic education and research, medical media, TeleHealth program, clinical equipment services and alternative revenue channels. Cross appointed to University of Toronto, Ms. McLaughlin is also a lecturer in the M.H.Sc. Program. Ms. McLaughlin has played a leadership role in process and work redesign, accelerated change management and facilities/systems redesign with experiences across four major teaching hospitals in strategy, operations and teaching in health research and health service at McMaster University and in management at Hamilton Civic Hospitals and Sunnybrook Health Science Centre. Ms. McLaughlin has played a key leadership role at St. Michael’s Hospital, in the integration of the Wellesley Central Hospital and the re-design of the St. Michael’s Hospital Perioperative Supply Chain.

While formerly with KPMG Consulting, he was a member of that firm’s Supply Chain Management Council. Jim is also a guest lecturer at Schulich’s School of Business in Toronto, and has presented as part of their Supply Chain Management and e-Commerce curriculum. Finally, Jim recently presented an overview of the Global Procurement Outsourcing market at the Center for Outsourcing Research & Education (CORE) March 2007 discussion forum on Outsourcing Supply Chain and Logistics.
Jim is a native of Toronto and was educated as a Mechanical Engineer with a Minor in Management Sciences at the University of Waterloo. Prior to joining Everest Group in 2005, Jim was a Managing Director with BearingPoint, a Partner with KPMG Consulting, and started his consulting career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).

Brian Nickerson is CEO and President of Sockeye Supply Chain, a software company he founded in 2000 and built into one of the foremost supply chain management software providers in the world.
He has more than 25 years of supply chain experience and a track record of successfully starting up new operations. He previously worked as Director of Product Development for Baan, a global ERP software supplier, where he was responsible for operations startup and subsequent delivery of a framework for Web-based application development. Prior to Baan, he worked for Numetrix, a leading supply chain optimization software provider, where he held numerous positions including Vice President of Consulting, Co-director of North American Operations and Vice President of Research and Development. Brian began his career with Unilever, where he held several plant and corporate operations management positions.

Sean Simpson is General Manager of Ariba Canada, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for directing Ariba's integrated Canadian sales and operations. Effective June 2007, Mr. Swiggum was named Vice President, Customer Fulfillment, Americas. In this role he is responsible for sales support and selected supply chain activities including contracting, order management, product scheduling, billing and accounts receivable for all IBM brands across Latin America, the US and Canada. Prior to this role, Mr Swiggum held an executive position within Procurement in IBM’s global Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) and was responsible for the integration of IBM’s global Service Parts Operations into the ISC along with the transformation of IBM’s Service Parts business to an “on-demand globally integrated team.”
Mr. Swiggum has held various executive positions within Customer Fulfillment in IBM’s global Integrated Supply Chain (ISC). In 2004 he was named to the world wide ISC strategy team, and in July 2005, was named the ISC country leader for Canada, a position he continues to hold, which includes over 700 professionals engaged in global procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and customer fulfillment. In addition, he was the global leader responsible for all customer fulfillment related activities for the divestiture of IBM’s personal computer business as well as the resulting strategic alliances. Also, in 2007 he led the global team responsible for the divestiture of IBM’s Printer brand service parts operations to Ricoh as part of IBM’s and Ricoh’s creation of a new joint venture, InfoPrint Systems.
Mr. Swiggum has over 23 years of experience and is an expert on parts logistics, contracting, business controls, accounts receivable collections, inventory, support services process design and implementation, as well as global supply chain leadership. He is a frequent speaker to governments and companies looking to improve service while reducing cost. Mr. Swiggum holds a B.Sc. and an MBA from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario.
