Outsourcing in logistics is now a pretty mature space. The academic community and the trade press has run a full spectrum of articles on how to decide whether to outsource, how to go about it, and how to manage the relationship. Now that many of these deals are now coming up for renewal, there is limited insight available to help supply chain executives at this important crossroads in their strategic options. This research highlights, based on in depth executive interviews from both sides, will be presented, and advice sought as to where further research would provide value to the supply chain community.
