For those who were wondering who was first on the scene at the 2010 PMAC National Conference, in Regina, these were the early-birds. The first delegate to register on-site for the 2010 Conference was A.K. Jivraj, SCMP, of Calgary AB.

The second delegate to register on-site for the 2010 Conference was Kirsten Berg of Yellowknife, NT.

The first National Board member to arrive at the 2010 Conference was John Masselos, p.g.c.a., of Montreal, QC.

If you see them at the Conference, be sure to say hello. Welcome to Regina!

Here is one of Canada’s top five brewpubs, according to the Globe and Mail, that beer connoisseurs may want to sample on Thursday night, after the networking event at the RCMP Heritage Centre. 

Bushwakker Brewpub is situated in Regina’s Old Warehouse District which also contains many restaurants, nightclubs, bars and pool halls.  It is located  in the Strathdee building which was built in 1913 out of the rubble of the Great Regina Cyclone (tornado) of 1912. 

As you can see, our SIPMAC golf committee (Jamey, Paul, Pam, Jason and Greg) enjoys using the Bushwakker Brewpub for meetings.

Our Conference keynote speaker, Jim Hopson, CEO, Saskatchewan Roughriders, is in the news and showing again how his innovative ideas have turned the Roughriders into a successful business. His leadership has also created fans so engaged and faithful that it’s been necessary to cap season ticket sales at 25,000. What an unbelievable and enviable position to be in for any professional sports team in Canada.

As you know by now, the Thursday night Networking Event will take delegates to the RCMP Heritage Centre, a must-see when visiting Regina.

This year marks 125 years of the RCMP “Depot” Division.  The RCMP Heritage Centre has around 40,000 artifacts that have been donated by retired members or their families, and RCMP detachments across the country.  This exhibit is new and delegates will be among the first to take in the history of the RCMP from when Métis leader Louis Riel was captured during the rebellion in 1885 and held in a guardroom at “Depot” awaiting trial, to showing the brown fatigues worn during  training and the first female recruit uniform.
